So, I'm going to post. I know, shocker.

I'm in a chatty wedding-y mood right now... so hence the chatty, wedding-themed post!

We finally decided on our wedding music... Rob arranged, played, and recorded a some songs that have been special to us throughout our relationship. It's going to be very special and original... and I'm so glad he let me give him credit on the programs!

We'll have the prelude playing from when guests begin to be seated to right before the attendants walk in. Each song should play twice... and we're not picky about what one the mothers or grandmothers come in to.

Prelude:
1. Redemption (Jars of Clay)
2. This Road (Jars of Clay)
3. Before the Throne of God Above
4. How Deep The Father's Love For Us (Stuart Townend)
5. Swallowed In The Sea (Coldplay)
6. Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers)
7. Pleasing Pain (an original by Rob, written before we even knew each other.. a song that made me realize that we were made for each other back when we were just friends)
8. Can't Help Falling In Love (Elvis Presley)

Processional:
An original arrangement by Rob

Entrance of the Bride:
The Doxology arranged and performed by Rob (this is really his song of worship and thanks to God for me...for us! I love, love, love it!

Recessional:
Ain't That A Kick In The Head (Dean Martin-- the real McCoy, with Dean-o singin'!)

As for our reception songs, we're going to do a mix of swing/big band/soft jazz and toss some personal favorites in the mix too. There'll be Sinatra, Michael Buble, Rod Stewart, Elvis, Carole King, Coldplay, Jars of Clay, and maybe even a little Derek Webb.

Our "special songs" for the reception are:

1. Good Morning, Life (Dean Martin) for when they announce our arrival
2. We Will Dance (Steven Curtis Chapman) or Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers) for our first dance
3. Here Comes the Sun (The Beatles) or Forever Young (Rod Stewart) OR My Girl (The Temptations) for the father/daughter dance (Dad can't decide!)
5. Another One Bites the Dust (Queen) for the bouquet toss
6. Please, Before I go (Derek Webb) for our grand exit!

So there ya have it.... you can almost feel like you are there, can't ya?

I can't sleep. LOL... Rob gets here in the morning tomorrow, and I guess I'm just really keyed up!

Everything's looking so beautiful at the church, all the hard stuff is done (we're getting married at Dad's church, so it was totally up to us to spiff it up and make it look all sparkly and ready for guests) so all that's left now is the "fluff"-- all the pretty decorations! My dress is 95% finished... I did the run-through with my hair... and Mom and I just got back from nail appointments followed by the whole evening at a natural hot-springs resort, complete with wine and cheese and a massage! Ahhhh... I like this getting married business! Too bad you only got to be the bride ONCE!

So yeah, I'm in a "happy bride" mood right now!

Oh, I can't wait to see all my dearest girlfriends! April gets here late tomorrow night, my sister Candi will pull up sometime Wednesday afternoon, Hannah flies in Thursday, Cassidy drives in Thursday, Erika gets here late Thursday night, and Christy skids in Friday around noon. Of course, Erica and my Biffster have been right here here all along. .:) I can hardly wait to see them all together!! Ooooh this is gonna be such a blast!

Engagement City!

Well, ANOTHER one of my best friends got engaged! This one makes me particularly happy. I mean, I haven't been this excited about an engagement since... oh, October. October 7th to be exact.

Love you much, Cass! Heck, I even love you enough to wear another bridesmaids dress I don't like. But I know you'll pick one I DO like. (Don't forget, my wedding's after yours...! Kidding) Fortunately the "three times a bridesmaid" curse is null and void in my case, seeing as I already have my Forever Love.

I'm glad we're going through this time of life together... 6 years in the making.

Odd Update for Once every Two Months

I'm craving Chinese food right now. After getting up at a ridiculous hour this morning to go to the dentist, receiving strict instructions to take a powerful dosage of ibuprofin (ha), and napping on the couch in between reruns, I'm craving Chinese food. I think it came from seeing someone eat a bowl of chow mein on TV... but whatever caused it, I am now dragging my half-numb self off the couch and going down to our local favorite Chinese place and ordering myself a big bowl of chow mein. To go.

Maybe I'll update this for real when the ibuprofin wears off.

Boring Post

Wow, I'm a terrible blogger. Too busy, I guess. Anyway, I felt like putting this up... just 'cause.

You Are Likely a First Born

At your darkest moments, you feel guilty.

At work and school, you do best when you're researching.

When you love someone, you tend to agree with them often.

In friendship, you are considerate and compromising.

Your ideal careers are: business, research, counseling, promotion, and speaking.

You will leave your mark on the world with discoveries, new information, and teaching people to dream.

The Birth Order Predictor

Pretty darn right-on.

Gummi Bears?

So, I rarely do this... but I was bored. I don't even like gummi bears, so whatever.

Gummy Bears

You may be smooshie and taste unnatural, but you're so darn cute.
